001 2nd Thess ![]() | God's Righteous Judgment![]() (2 Thessalonians 1:1-12) This session begins with the background for the second letter to the Thessalonians. Paul again praised them for their faith in the midst of persecution, and he reassured them that there will be just punishment for those who are afflicting them. A separate chart shows the distinctions between the Rapture and the Second Coming. [51 minutes] |
002 2nd Thess ![]() | Precursors to God’s Wrath![]() (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12) Paul confirms his original instruction to the Thessalonians that Christ could come for church-age saints at any moment. The Day of the Lord cannot begin until after the departure of the church and the appearing of the man of lawlessness, who is being restrained by the Holy Spirit until God’s appointed time. A separate chart shows evidence for the identity of the Restrainer. [48 minutes] |
003 2nd Thess ![]() | Praying for Believers’ Steadfastness![]() (2 Thessalonians 2:13-3:5) Paul expressed his thankfulness to God for their reception of the gospel which had changed their lives in such significant ways. He encouraged them to be firmly established in the truths that they were taught, so they would not be quickly shaken by false teaching. Paul also asked God to strengthen them so that they would have the courage to carry out the commands given to them by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. [33 minutes] |
