As some may vaguely recall (it has been so slow in coming) I have been working on a commentary on the book of Daniel—a companion to the commentary on
book of Revelation
.
Chapter 4 of the
Daniel Commentary
is now complete.
If you have the time and inclination to help review the material, it would be much appreciated. :-)

The past three years have been sobering ones for Bible students who favor a literal interpretation, including a straight-forward reading of the Bible’s numerous prophetic passages.
In 2013, we suffered the loss of
Dr.
Mal Couch
. (Every teacher on our website was taught by this tireless proponent of a dispensational understanding of Scripture.) Then, in 2014, we were saddened by the loss of
Dr.
J.
Dwight Pentecost
, another giant in the field of dispensationalism.
He was widely known for his masterful thesis, which most of us know by the title
Things to Come
—IMHO, one of the two most comprehensive works on prophecy ever written. (The other being Arnold Fruchtenbaum’s
Footsteps of the Messiah
, which followed upon his
magnum opus
,
Israelology
.) Now, we must contend for the faith without the further assistance of
Dr.
Charles Ryrie
, who passed away a few days ago. Dr.
Ryrie will probably be best remembered for his work producing
The Ryrie Study Bible
, a modern-day equivalent of the
Scofield Study Bible
— so influential has it been in our generation. (Other books by Dr.
Ryrie that I've benefited from include:
Dispensationalism
,
Basic Theology
,
The Holy Spirit
,
Come Quickly, Lord Jesus
, and
The Basis of the Premillennial Faith
.) The inexorable “graduation” of these theological giants and defenders of a plain-reading of the biblical text underscores the importance of passing the baton of sensible Bible interpretation to each generation.
It is becoming our-turn to attempt to stand in these men’s large shoes and to help the sheep “hear the words of . . . prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3).
This, Lord willing, we will attempt to do!
