The New Covenant
(Jeremiah 31:31; Matthew 26:26-28) During the Last Supper, Jesus referred to the cup which He shared with His disciples as 'My blood of the new covenant' (Mat. 26:26-28). How were these words understood by His listeners? Jesus was alluding to an often-overlooked passage from the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah explaining the scope and purpose of the New Covenant. This is the last of six installments on the Biblical Covenants. The entire course, comprising 4 hours and 38 minutes of audio recording, can be downloaded (30MB) to your computer for faster playback or for use in your home group or church. |
